On Sundays we have a break from work and take a trip to places that we consider essential as a part of the cultural experience of marble-sculpture and art in general.

The first tour will naturally start in the city of Carrara, world capital of white marble, to visit the marble mines (cave) and take a walk on white marble cliffs. then we continue to “Il porto dei poeti” in Lerici, an enchanting bay where we have lunch in a fish restaurant over looking the sea.

The following Saturday after quitting work we can take a tour to Massa, to one of the biggest stone-tool factories in the country called Cuturi (www.cuturi.com ) where students can acquire the instruments they need enjoying a special discount.

The second Sunday we will visit the city of Florence, walking the ancient streets pouring with Renaissance art in every corner and on every wall. We would prefer to see the “Bargello” Museum where pieces by Masters like Michelangelo, Donatello, Luca della Robbia, Verrocchio and Cellini are seen and If time permits we can tour The “Accademia Gallery” which is particularly famous for its sculptures by Michelangelo: the Prisoners, the St.Matthew and, especially, the statue of David which was transferred there from Piazza della Signoria in 1873. We can have a typical lunch at a local Osteria in the Area of the “Santo Spirito” church, a bohemian part of Florence, where we flea the busy and highly touristic zones.

*The Sunday trips (restaurants, museum tickets etc..) are not included in the price of the course and are an optional activity for students that want to visit the more hidden and mind blowing Tuscany  .
